What it does

IDSofts Karaoke Player is a free Windows desktop player for karaoke tracks you already have. Open a backing track, follow lyrics on screen, and sing along. Adjust pitch or tempo when you want a more comfortable key or practice speed.

It is a player, not a studio. It does not create instrumental mixes, reduce vocals, or replace Karaoke Maker or the Video & MP3 Downloader.

Free for everyone. There is no paid Karaoke Player plan on this site.

Download and open

Karaoke Player is provided as a ZIP package when the Windows build is published. It does not need a traditional installer.

  1. Select Download software and save kpv1.1.zip.
  2. Open your Downloads folder after it finishes.
  3. Right-click the ZIP file and choose Extract All....
  4. Open the extracted net48 folder and double-click IdsoftsKaraokePlayer.exe.
Keep the extracted folder together. Do not run the application directly from inside the ZIP file.

How a typical session works

  1. Choose a karaoke or instrumental file you are allowed to use.
  2. Open it in Karaoke Player and start playback.
  3. Show lyrics if you have them, so the lines follow the music.
  4. Change pitch or tempo if you need a different key or a slower practice speed.
  5. Sing along, then stop or open another track when you are done.
