Video & MP3 Downloader User Guide
Learn how to download permitted media, manage your MP3 library, activate a plan, and resolve common issues.
1. Getting started
IDSofts Video And MP3 Downloader is a Windows desktop application for saving supported YouTube videos, mixes, and playlists as video or MP3 files. It also helps manage MP3 details.
- Open the application and choose a download folder. The default is Downloads\IDSofts Video And MP3 Downloader.
- Connect to the internet. The application uses server time to check your license. On first use it may download or update the video engine (yt-dlp); saving MP3 files can also download ffmpeg.
- Paste a video, mix, or playlist link, then choose Load queue or press Enter.
- Review the queue. Choose individual items, all items, none, or new items only. Items already in the download folder are marked.
- For video, choose a quality and a maximum number of items: 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, 200, or 500.
- Select Save video or Save MP3. Watch the status and log. Stop cancels the current work, and Open folder opens the download location.
The queue shows each title, length, and existing-file status. Use Engine to check or update the download engine.
2. Download by name
Download by Name is available with an active Pro or Ultimate plan. Enter one request per line using this format:
Artist - SongFor example: Hillsong Worship - What A Beautiful Name or Planetshakers - All I Want Is You.
The application searches YouTube, adds the first matching result to the main queue, and lets you review the suggestions before saving. Duplicate results are skipped. You may enter up to 500 lines at once.
- Pro includes 3 name searches per server day. Every entered line counts, even if no result is found.
- Ultimate includes unlimited name searches.
- Normal link downloads are not limited by the name-search limit.
3. MP3 management tools
Choose a folder to scan MP3 files, including subfolders. The library can show the file name, artist, song, genre, album, title, suggestion, and source.
Artist and song can be read from file names. For example, ayam - makan nasi kosong becomes artist Ayam and song Makan Nasi Kosong. Review the result before saving. You can also fill in Genre and Album tags.
Edit a row directly, then select Save tags to write the selected changes to the MP3 file. Changes shown in the list are not saved until you save or rename them.
Find Song Name
For Pro and Ultimate, Find Song Name searches one file at a time using its file name. Review the suggested result, select it, and choose Save tags. Use Stop Finding to stop a search. Use Find and Refresh to filter or reload the list.

Checkboxes control batch actions. The selected row controls single-file actions. The title suggestion uses the current Artist and Song fields.
4. Plans and daily limits

The Free limit resets using verified server time, so an internet connection is required. Paid features remain active while the application can confirm the server time and license.
5. Buy, activate, upgrade, and move your license
Buy and activate
- Open Explore Plans or Pro Upgrade.
- Choose Pro ($15) or Ultimate ($25), then complete payment in the PayPal browser page.
- After payment, select Finish PayPal. Your license key appears; copy it.
- In the application, open the admin/license area, paste the key, and select Activate.
A paid key can be active on one computer at a time. Other computers use the Free plan. Upgrading Pro to Ultimate costs $25 and keeps the same key; 365 days are added to the remaining time. For example, 200 days remaining becomes 565 days. It is not a second license.
Move a license to another computer
- On the original computer, select Remove License.
- Wait for the release confirmation and copy your key.
- On the new computer, enter the same key and activate it.
Moving a license does not pause the expiry date. The original computer returns to Free. Internet access is needed; if the original computer is not available, contact support.
6. Troubleshooting

| The wrong song was found | Review the suggestion before saving, then adjust the artist and song fields if needed. |
| MP3 conversion does not start | Check your internet connection and allow the application to download or update the MP3 conversion engine (ffmpeg). |
| A file says it is already saved | Check the download folder, rename the file if appropriate, or select a different item. |
| My plan shows Free | Reconnect to the internet, reopen the application, then check the plan or license page. |
| Pro name-search limit reached | Wait for the next server day, use a normal link download, or upgrade to Ultimate for unlimited name searches. |
| Payment completed but no key appears | Return to the application and choose Finish PayPal. |
